CHANCY LEE CARPENTER- diploid JC-93-422 (27"-MLa-6.5"-Dor) Named in honor of my father this cultivar has been long awaited. The form is round, flat and widespread with blooms having the heaviest of substance and being as much as 7" in diameter. The round, wide, blunt ended sepals give that refined and full look to this cultivar. Strong, erect scapes with two and three way laterals and top branching give this cultivar high bud count. Flowers are a rich blend of apricot, peach, and coral. Thick corduroy lines radiate from the golden green throats out onto the nicely ruffled petals. This dormant cultivar has wide beautiful arching foliage. It is not recommended for the southern coastal areas as it needs adequate chilling in the winter season. Fertile both ways. |
