(16"-EMRe-6.5"-Ev) This lovely beauty was named for one very
dear to our family whom we unexpectedly lost this spring. She was
the mother of my sister-in-law, Patsy Carpenter, and nephew, Mark Carpenter's, grandmother. She was a treasure of generosity and kindness to all who knew her and will be greatly missed. This large diploid flower is of a very smooth and heavy texture and has that very round, flat faced and shallow throat form giving it a rather distinctive elegance all its own. The color is highly saturated and a rich salmon pink that blends into a lovely halo of soft rose and into a green throat. The sepals are very rounded and blunt with some fluting and ruffling. The 3.5" wide petals are rounded and nicely ruffled. Outstanding substance is a cardinal virtue of this fragrant Beauty. HELEN MC CLOUD has one to two lateral branches and forked top branching with 15 to 20 buds. Repeats. Fertile both ways. |
